Description: Webbing With Wisdom (www.) is part of a Cyber Self Defense Program funded by Status of Women Canada, a collective of three agencies and their research teams: East Metro Youth Services, METRAC and St. Stephen’s Community House.
This conference will explore findings of surveys by 300 young women between the ages of 11 and 24. They shared their understandings of cyber sexual violence, the impact on cyber violence on young women and their recommendations to social workers, youth workers and school administrators for addressing this issue. At the conference, attendees will also participate in framing strategies to build resilience among women to defend themselves against cyber bullying. We hope this conference will create new partnerships and strategies for working together.
Young women and those accompanying them are invited from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Service providers are invited to join in with the young women from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
