METRAC’s fresh branding, strengthened programs and services and our bright vision for preventing violence against women and youth in Ontario and beyond have been shining all year, and have been recognized by the Ontario government in its plan to challenge sexual violence. Join us as we review our
year and prepare for the future, and find out how you can get connected into our innovative approaches to building safer communities for everyone.
The second half of our Annual General Meeting will feature a presentation on Technology and Safety Risks for Women:
Technological innovations have greatly transformed our way of life. Computers, Smart phones and other mobile devices have made it possible for us to communicate with our friends and loved ones, share information and optimize our daily activities through the use of social networking sites, and other useful mobile applications.
However, as technology advances, so are the risks associated with it. This presentation aims to equip the audience with a basic understanding and awareness of mobile technology risks, some of the methods used by perpetrators to monitor a user’s activity and how to avoid them.
This event will be held in a wheelchair accessible venue (Metro Hall in room 310). For additional accessibility requirements, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
