  Community Greeting

Dear METRAC community,

We are wrapping up a very eventful February at METRAC. In addition to numerous legal information workshops, at the request of the Mayor of Toronto’s office, we held three community conversations on Anti-Black Racism across the Greater Toronto Area soliciting Black Torontonians’ input on the impact of racism on individuals, families and communities and ways to redress systemic and historical harms that would lead to improving equity in the City. We are continuing community safety audits across the city, and holding workshops at multiple high schools and middle schools to promote healthy, equal relationships. We also participated in a community panel on gender-based violence prevention following a screening of Deepa Mehta’s film, “Anatomy of Violence”. Check out a picture of the panel, here
