Webbing with Wisdom is part of a Cyber Self Defense project funded by Status of Women Canada and led by East Metro Youth Services, METRAC and St. Stephen’s Community House. It will be held on May 5 in Toronto.
The project began with research to better understand young women’s experiences with cyber sexual violence – a survey of over 300 young women aged 11 to 24 was undertaken. At the Webbing with Wisdom Conference survey findings will be shared, along with young women’s recommendations to social workers, youth workers and school administrators for addressing this issue. The conference is also an opportunity for young women to participate in framing strategies for building resilience against cyber bullying.
