Awget’s story

  • Awget Ghebrehiwot

  • “My university commissioned METRAC to perform a Campus Safety Audit. I read of it in the school paper and decided this was an organization I wanted to be involved with. After the interview, I was immediately put to work as volunteer! Through it all, I met every member of the dedicated and kind staff, who answered every question I had, encouraged me and taught me that with a passion for social change, it could be your life’s work. METRAC makes you feel like you are part of their community, an indispensible part of the network to making the world a safer place.”

Sarah’s story

  • sarah.pike

  • “Volunteering with METRAC reminded me of why I was interested in law in the first place,” says Sarah. She says her volunteer time will “serve as a reminder to think critically about the law” and will foster her desire to continue learning about issues often untouched in the formal curriculum.
