Program highlights:

We work year-round to make communities safer for women and young people, because a safer world for women and youth is safer for everyone. In 2011, support from donors like you helped us:

provide legal information to 2,985 women experiencing and at risk of violence and their service providers;
deliver programming to build community safety and safety awareness for 3,776 people;
lead peer violence prevention programming with 2,507 young people in schools and community spaces; and
distribute 21,223 pamphlets and booklets and promote online games and apps to 20,767 users to raise awareness about the warning signs of violence.

A little goes a long way at METRAC:

$50 helps a few shelters and drop-in centres to get free copies of METRAC’s written materials on warning signs of violence and women’s legal rights.
$100 provides a ReAct violence-prevention workshop to 30 young people at a drop-in centre or a shelter that does not have funding to do this work.
$150 gives hundreds of women access to the Ontario Women’s Justice Network website for six weeks, allowing them to find valuable information about their legal rights in situations of violence.
$250 allows a volunteer community group to get trained and supported to do a Community Safety Audit of their neighbourhood, making it safer for everybody in the area.

Greeting cards

Support our work to end violence against children and youth by purchasing these beautiful, all-occasion greeting cards. Only $2 each (postage and handling additional). Cards come in three original designs by student artists and are suitable for any occasion. The inner greeting reads, “Every child deserves a safe home” and includes artist descriptions of the covers.
