Women Read 2009
On Wednesday, March 25, 2009, we celebrated International Women’s Day with exceptional women authors Priscila Uppal, Lisa Gabriele, and Alissa York. Women Read was held in partnership with Random House of Canada Ltd. and hosted by the SHAMBA Foundation.

Bowling 4 Change 2008
On Saturday December 13th, METRAC held its annual bowlathon at the Bowlerama West to support Respect in Action (ReAct), our youth violence prevention program. Thank you to our in-kind donors, Cadillac Fairview Eaton Centre, Magic Oven, Pizza Pizza, and Cineplex Entertainment.
Night Court Comedy Hour
On Wednesday, October 29th 2008, METRAC held its first annual Night Court Comedy Hour in the Arcadian Court Room (Simpson Tower, 8th floor, 401 Bay Street at Queen). Funds were raised to support our Community Justice Program work for women and children and the new and improved Ontario Women's Justice Network (OWJN) website. Witnesses of this event, were treated to comedy from the Monkey Toast Players and the women of Second City, as well as a roast of Senator Nancy Ruth. Bowling for Change 2007
On Saturday November 24, 2007, METRAC held its annual bowlathon at the Bowlerama West and raised $12,000 in support of METRAC's ReAct youth program. Over 100 people participated as bowlers, Team captains, volunteers, and pledgers! 2007 Bowling 4 Change Lane Sponsors were: Canadian Auto Workers, Lerners LLP, and Wilson Christen LLP Barristers. METRAC would like to thank everyone who participated in the bowlathon and to our generous donors and sponsors.
Lerners Balancing the Scales: Making Justice Work for Women Fundraiser
Lerners Balancing the Scales: Making Justice Work for Women, a fundraiser for METRAC’s Justice Program, was held on Thursday May 10, 2007 at the SPIN Gallery (1100 Queen Street West). $15,000 was raised to allow METRAC to enhance legal trainings for community service providers and improve the Ontario Women's Justice Network, in order to increase access to justice for women experiencing violence. Festivities of the night included:
- Fabulous hors d’oeuvres and drinks
- An exciting silent auction
- Gift bag goodies for event attendees
- Live entertainment from jazz vocalist Farheen Beg
- The soulful sounds of DJ Vashti

A Night Out With a Difference
On September 18, 2006, METRAC hosted its Night Out With a Difference fundraising event. Held at the Drake Hotel in downtown Toronto, the night was a wonderful celebration to support METRAC's work to end violence against women, youth, and children. Guests enjoyed delectable food, gift bags, live entertainment by MJ Cyr (acoustic guitar soloist and singer/songwriter) and Oufti (acapella trio), and a fabulous silent/live auction. METRAC thanks our sponsor and our silent auction and gift bag donors.
2006 Bowlathon
On Saturday, December 2nd, 2006, METRAC held its first Bowlathon at the Bowlerama West (5429 Dundas Street West). 100 people collected pledges and participated as Team Captains and Bowlers to support Respect in Action (ReAct), METRAC's peer-to-peer youth violence prevention program. Together we raised $15,000 to make a difference in our communities!

Community Film Screening: Looking for Angelina
On Thursday September 22, 2005, METRAC participated in a special screening of and panel discussion about Looking for Angelina, the true story of anItalian-Canadian woman sentenced to death for murdering her abusive husband in 1911.

Community Open House 2005
METRAC's Open House was held on Wednesday June 22 at the Cecil Community Centre. Filled with games, prizes, activities, food, and fun, we shared what we're doing at METRAC in the community.

METRAC's 20th Anniversary Event: Dining Out With a Difference, Celebrating 20 Years of Community (1984-2004)
In 2004, METRAC held Dining Out With a Difference to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. This dinner fundraiser was held at Jamie Kennedy Restaurant and Wine Bar in Toronto and hosted by Zahra Dhanani. More than 120 people attended, and through donations and a silent auction, they helped to support our work with youth and under-serviced communities in the city. Marie-Jo Cyr, Craig Moffitt, and The Delightful Divas provided musical entertainment. METRAC would also like to express our thanks to Dining Out with A Difference's sponsors, table sponsors, and silent auction and gift bag donors.
