Become a Member Become a MemberAs a member of METRAC, you will be a valuable asset to the struggle to end violence against all women and children. You will support anti-violence programs, providing input into all METRAC does day-to-day. As a member, you will participate in grassroots anti-violence women as you show your commitment to ending violence against women and demonstrate your desire for positive social change. We are accepting volunteer applications; however, volunteer interviews and training will not be held again until 2009. We will keep all applications on file for a later date. METRAC seeks dynamic volunteers who are committed to ending violence and discrimination against women, youth, and children. Volunteers are an integral part of METRAC's team and we are grateful for their contributions of their valuable time, talents, and energy towards making communities safer. As a volunteer, you will be a positive anti-violence role-model and may assist with various activities, including:
Volunteer Training & Orientation and Commitment Volunteer training and orientation sessions are held periodically. Attendance is mandatory for new volunteers. You will learn about METRAC and its policies, our anti-oppression framework and practices, our programs and activities, and various volunteer opportunities. METRAC volunteers must make at least a eight-month commitment to the organization. If your application is successful, you will participate in the mandatory METRAC Volunteer training and orientation session and begin volunteering afterward for a minimum of eight months.
